Gentry's Room: A Work In Progress

Here's a "sneak peek" at Gentry's room. We were told his furniture should arrive next week. Once I get that all set up, I will post new pictures.

Gentry's closet (it's pretty big; 3 sliding doors)
Here is the accent wall that we painted and put trim on. The other 3 walls are the khaki color.
These are some of his clothes. When I say, "He REALLY doesn't need clothes!", I'm serious. lol.
I guess he doesn't really need any bibs or shoes either. I've found some amazing deals!

Our New Living Room Furniture....FINALLY!!

Our living room furniture has finally arrived! We ordered it from Direct Buy back in November and were hoping to get it soon after we arrived in California....guess the manufactuer had a different idea! We absolutely LOVE it and are so happy to be able to watch tv together without one or both (when Molly was in the recliner) of us sitting on the floor. We are beginning to feel like real adults, with real furniture! :)

loveseat & sleeper sofa fabric
This is our new sleeper sofa.

The massive chair and ottoman (we had NO idea they were this large; we even ordered the smaller of the two choices!)

26 Weeks and growing!!

My belly seems to have grown an incredible amount in the past 3 weeks. Every time I walk past a mirror I look and think to myself, "Can I actually get bigger?" But then I'm reminded that I've still got 14 weeks to go!! The little guy has been very active lately and has been doing his aerobics.
We were trying to be a bit artistic...
Gentry's bedding arrived this week! The theme is called "Farm Babies." I've already gone and picked out the paint. Mitchell was kind enough to begin painting this weekend, but we ran out of paint! Once we are done painting, I will take pictures and post them. We also ordered his furniture this weekend. I'm hoping it takes less than the estimated 2 months to arrive.
We miss all of our family and friends and really love when you guys email/call us! Caleb and Molly say hi as well!

Our House in California

Okay, so I've had quite a bit of requests to see pictures of our new house. We were lucky enough to get a house on our first day on-base. The house is on-base, behind the hospital (which will come in handy!), it's about 12 miles in from the front gate so it's a quiet area. It's a one story, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1 car garage, with a medium-sized fenced-in backyard. I can't wait to start putting our personal touches into the house! Here's the house from the other side of the street.
Another view of the front of the house. I would like to put in some plants and flowers in the front flower beds. They are pretty bare right now.
This is the back of the house and the backyard. We are lucky to have a tree in our backyard, most don't. This is the view from our back porch/yard. This is why we decied to put the porch swing back here. We are so thankful we have a house that backs up to the open mountatins/valleys. Most of the houses back up to each other or the "tot lots"(play areas).
**for some reason, I can't get the pictures of the inside of the house to load correctly on the page; I will keep trying**

We Made It!!

Well, we finally made it to California! We left Virginia Dec. 31 and arrived in Florida Jan. 1. We visited Dad, Gramma, Walter, Jenny, Brianna & Travis while we were down there. We were so greatful to be able to see them before we headed West. We left Florida Monday Jan. 6. We made our way to Mississippi the first day, then to San Antonio, TX, then to El Paso, TX (Texas is a HUGE state!), then made it to Oceanside, CA on Thursday night. Luckily we didn't run anto too much trouble along the way (minus the flat tire and almost running out of gas). The doggies did a good job of riding. Molly slept most of the way and Caleb just watched for squirrels (we haven't seen many here in CA). They both seem to LOVE the new house and the fenced in back yard is Molly's favorite place. She loves to go out and roll around in the grass and lay in the sun!

Here are a few pics of our cross country experience:

Here I am in front of The Alamo -- we made a VERY quick stop here

This is what Caleb and Molly did most of the trip.

This is telling us that we have ZERO miles to go until we're EMPTY! The nearest gas station was 6 miles away....made us a bit nervous! But, we made it...on fumes I'm sure!

This is what the majority of Texas looked like. The roads were completely flat but there were mountains in the distance. It got a bit repetitive....

Mitchell wanted to be sure we got some pics of the cactuses. The majority of them looked like they were dying though.

Here I am once we arrived to California. I'm 23 weeks in this picture (I'm 24 now). I should be getting a new ultra-sound pic soon. I'm hoping it will be my 3-D ultra-sound.

That's about it for now. I will try to get some pics up of our house and all. We have gotten everything unpacked and the majority of it is put away, took us about 2 days. We are still waiting for our new living room furniture to arrive...

20 Week Ultrasound Pics

Here are some pics from our ultra sound this morning. The doc proved to us that he is defenitely a boy! She said he is growing well. He's +/- 11 oz. He seems to be quite an active baby, but I haven't felt him move yet. Any day now!

As far as the move goes, the packers came on Monday and the movers came on Tuesday. It seems to be official now! Tomorrow will be my last day of work. Then we'll be at Mom's (in Yorktown) from December 19-24. After that, we'll head to Maryland to be with Mitchell's family from December 24-28. We'll be back in Quantico for 2 days and will then head to Florida December 31st to visit Dad, Gramma, Walter & Jenny and family. We're hoping to leave Florida by Jan. 5 or 6. Then we'll be on our way to California! We should get to Camp Pendleton by Jan. 11th (hopefully!).

We'll be driving the Durango with both dogs!! Then we will tow the PACKED Intrepid behind should be a fun and interesting trip! We'll be sure to keep everyone updated.

May you all have a safe and bless Christmas and a Happy New Year!
