I figured since it was my idea to go to the World Ag Expo all the way up in Tulare, CA; I would save my wife the agony and create the post for her. Hopefully, ya'll like it as much as you like Allie's posts...
My beautiful wife and I woke up around 0415. We got Gentry into the car and were on the road by 0500. With a 4 1/2 hour drive north and a pit stop for breakfast, we made it to the Expo around 1000. Gentry did great during the long car ride.
My Guard genes really showed because I had everything planned out. Of course, we went to the Farm Credit Dairy Center first and checked out all of the latest and greatest technology in the industry. We saw the DeLaval's robotic milker, a full size rotary parlor display, and a double 12 herringbone parlor. Then we went to Gentry's favorite part of the show, the tractors. He loved them! The expo filled more than 60 acres so we did a lot of walking. At the expo, they also had an antique tractor barn, a kids Ag explorer barn, and international Ag business barn. We stayed at the expo all the way up to the closing at 1600 and then we were back on the road home.
It was a great day! (Allie agrees with me)
The DeLaval robotic milker. It can be yours for the low, low price of $300,000.
The computer and robotic arm that does all of the work.
Gentry on his first tractor. Of course, it was going to be a Case IH.
"Look at me, Mom. I'm a big boy!"
This is my new desktop picture. I love it!
Gentry and me up in the Case IH combine. All of the large tractors have a "buddy seat". You know farming is a family ordeal when they put two seats in the tractors.
Pictures of some of the tractors and equipment at the show. I know, I know... I took pictures of John Deere and CAT tractors.
This is one crazy machine. No more trimming the tree tops from a ladder.
Gentry's Offical "Not Offical ID" World Ag Expo ID.
Allie was amazed by this. I'll let you figure out what it is. And it's not a big smoke pit; however it could be used for that.
