Thanksgiving 2010

Grampa Genge arrived on Tuesday night for his Thanksgiving visit. We haven't done much, but have enjoyed a nice visit.

Gentry wanted to 'work' like Grampa.

I was in charge of Thanksgiving this year...quite a big task, as most of you know I don't like to cook. I'm very capable of cooking, I just don't enjoy it. I like to eat the food :) I made a 10 lb turkey, stuffing, broccoli casserole, mashed potatoes, rolls, and 2 pumpkin pies. My friend Lianne made sweet potato casserole, macaroni and cheese, gravy, and Ozark berry pie. So we had plenty of delicious food. I was quite surprised at how well it all came together.

I think his favorite things were the mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce.

Two of our friends came to Thanksgiving! Gentry, Casey, Dad/Grampa, Evan, Lianne, and Mitchell (and all our yummy food!)

Marine Ball 2010

Mitchell and I enjoyed a night out when we attended his unit's Marine Corps Birthday Ball a few weeks ago. It was held at the Grand Hyatt in downtown San Diego. I look forward to the ball each year, because it means I get to get all dressed up. I was very fortunate that a friend volunteered to do my hair and another friend did my makeup. I was also fortunate to get a free, yes, FREE dress this year. His unit held a ball gown give-away and I actually found something that fit and that I liked. Very lucky!

It was a bit of a rushed evening (my fault), but we had a great time. I already can't wait until next year to do it all over again!

Gentry's 18 Month Check-up

We had Gentry's 18 month well baby check-up this morning. Here are his current stats:
Weight: 23 lbs (14%)
Height: 32 in (45%)

Once again, he is low for weight, but what's new? The doctor wasn't concerned since it's always been that way. She said not to worry until he gets down to 5% or in the negatives. I told her he takes after his Daddy.

Unfortunately, the little guy had to get one shot. He took it like a champ and only cried for a few seconds. He was laughing and playing with the lab tech as soon as we stood him back up.

The doc said it looks as if Gentry has a small sinus infection so she put him on some meds. I'm assuming this is the reason he's been the way he's been lately (not getting much sleep, coughing, runny nose). I just wish when I took him to the doc 2 weeks ago, they would have done something. Hopefully, he'll feel better soon.

Sorry there aren't any new pics. My memory card is corrupted (or so it says) and I'm hesitant to put it in the computer...
