We decided to venture down to the North Island Air Show on Saturday, Feb.12th. North Island is the Naval Air Station on Coronado Island, across the bay from San Diego. Part of the reason we decided to go was because Michael (Mitchell's twin brother) would be there. He had flown in from Pensacola, FL, where he is currently in flight school, for the show. What should have been about an hour drive, turned into a 4 hour drive. Yes, that's right, it took us FOUR hours to get there! Gentry had a few meltdowns, and I had one as well, but we finally made it and couldn't wait to see Michael.
Here are some pictures from that day:
This was taken from the Coronado Bridge (that we sat on for about 2 hours). That's Coronado Island. At least it was a beautiful day!
Getting Gentry to look at the camera these days is nearly impossible.
Gentry checkin' out Uncle Michael's helicopter.
So Michael wasn't posing like this for me. This gentleman came up and asked Michael to kneel down in front of the helicopter and then proceeded to take about 10 pictures of him. So I took advantage of the opportunity thinking that Wanda might like a picture.
Uncle Michael and Gentry.
Daddy and Gentry checking out the inside of a CH-46 helicopter. Gentry wasn't very interested.
Notice the way Gentry is looking at Michael. I'm still not sure he can tell Michael and Mitchell apart unless they are talking.
All in all, it was a gorgeous day for the air show and we had a good time visiting with Michael and checking out all the different aircraft.
