Virginia Living Museum

I've been trying to find things to do with Gentry during our stay in VA. This particular day, we went to the Virginia Living Museum in Newport News. I used to go there for field trips in elementary school, but hadn't been in quite some time. They've done so much with it since then. Gentry really enjoyed running all around and looking at the fish in the many different tanks. We also walked the nature trail and saw deer, opossum, raccoon, wolves, a red fox, bald eagles, butterflies, and turtles.

I was trying to get Gentry to get in the turtle and stick his head out. Over the past few months, he's become very cautious. It's cute to see him exploring things and to stop and think about his next move. Here he is checking out the whole situation.

He decided to give it a try. He poked his head in but wouldn't go any further. So this was the best shot I could get :)

Checking out some fish.

Exploring the big log. There were other kids climbing all over it and Gentry just thought he could be a big kid like them.

Crawling through the log.

For some reason, he really liked running along this bench. I think he played here for about 20 minutes!

Few Days at the Farm

Ok, so I realize it's been more than a month since I last posted. I'm sorry! We've been super busy with the move. However, we were able to make it up to the farm for a few days the second week of May. It was Grandma and Pap-pap's first time seeing Trent. They were also excited to see Gentry, who they hadn't seen since Christmas.
Gentry truly enjoyed being at the farm. He just LOVED it! He even got to ride the new tractor with Uncle Jeremiah. Both boys with spoiled with love by their grandparents.
We already can't wait for our next trip to the farm.

Enjoying his cake! Such a mess :)

Sadie got ahold of Gentry's cow and he lost an eye. Gentry was quick to notice that something wasn't quite right with Cow. Poor Cow....

Baby #2 has arrived!

Trent Colin has arrived! He was born at 1:59 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2011. He weighed 6 lbs 6 oz and was 18.5 inches long. The labor/delivery was extremely fast. So fast, that I wasn't able to get the epidural I was so hoping for. We got to the hospital at 12:50 a.m. and Trent was born an hour later. I didn't think I had it in me to do a natural delivery, but apparently, it was Trent's plan. Three pushes and our tiny boy arrived. I was surprised at how fast he came and at how small he was. Almost a whole pound smaller than Gentry was! We got home from the hospital on Tuesday morning and are all doing well. Thank you to all of you for your well wishes.

Our little man all dressed and ready to go home

Gentry wanted to hold Trent and once I let him, he seemed so proud, but also a little unsure. Gentry has adjusted to Trent extremely well. He constantly wants to help by trying to give Trent his paci or put his hat on. He even tries to share his trains with him (you know he approves of him if he shares his trains!).

Our Little Climber

So we have this toy organizer that has all these bins to hold the toys. Gentry has found that if he dumps the bins out, he can use them to climb on and reach things he wants. I think Daddy taught him this...

And here's the beginning...

Apparently, he needed 3 boxes on top of each other and then 2 chairs.

Clapping for himself. He was very proud and apparently, didn't feel guilty that I caught him. Silly boy!
**According to my parents, I was quite the climber myself when I was little.

Belly Pics

I know, I know, I haven't been very good with: 1. updating the blog and 2. sharing belly pictures. So here ya go...

27 weeks

34.5 weeks

Potty time???

Well, we broke down and bought Gentry his very own potty a few weeks ago. He was very interested in it at first. He would want to go sit on it any time he saw Mitchell and I go to the bathroom. Though he never actually did anything in it, I was surprised he was showing any interest at all.

Move forward a few weeks, and he could care less about the thing. He likes to carry it around the house and use it to climb on things. Oh well. He'll let us know when he's ready. We're not going to push it.

Testing out his new potty (pardon the busted lip, daycare accident).

San Diego Botanical Gardens

I actually had a free Tuesday and decided to use it to take Gentry to the local botanical gardens. It worked out great because the first Tuesday of every month it's FREE! It was a beautiful day, so perfect for spending it outside.

I literally had to drag him out of the bamboo jungle. He loved it in there!

Such a boy, climbing the rocks and making Mommy attempt to climb up there and get him.
